
San Francisco (US), Oct 31: Andhra Pradesh is rapidly evolving into a start-up and manufacturing hub, emphasized Nara Lokesh, the state’s IT and Electronics Minister, as he addressed the Indian diaspora and members of the US-India Business Council in San Francisco. Lokesh highlighted the state’s investor-friendly policies, its vast seacoast, extensive highway network, and robust transport facilities as prime reasons for investment.
Lokesh noted that under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership, Andhra Pradesh is establishing a supportive ecosystem for industrial growth. Key initiatives include reviving the Economic Development Board to streamline industrial permissions and encouraging specific districts for sector-based growth: Anantapur for automobile industries, Kurnool for renewable energy, Visakhapatnam and Prakasam for IT, pharmaceuticals, and medical manufacturing, and Godavari districts for the aqua industry.
He also announced plans to resume Amaravati’s development with advanced construction technology and establish an Artificial Intelligence university to cultivate global AI experts. Lokesh invited investments to Andhra Pradesh, underscoring its favorable business environment.
Present at the meeting were India diaspora founder Mr. Rangaswamy, US-India Business Council executive members Ms. Kavitha Mariyappan, Mr. Siva Sivaram, and Mr. Ramakanth Alapati.
