AP Agriculture Budget 2024-25: Minister Atchannaidu Announces Rs.43,402 Crore Allocation

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Minister Atchannaidu presented a dedicated agriculture budget of Rs.43,402 crore for the fiscal year 2024-25, highlighting the state’s commitment to strengthening its agricultural sector, which supports around 62% of the population. Atchannaidu emphasized agriculture as the “backbone of the state” and criticized previous administrations for neglecting this crucial sector.

The Minister outlined initiatives focused on enhancing soil quality through testing and utilizing advanced technologies like remote sensing. Subsidized seeds and micronutrient fertilizers will be provided to farmers, with distribution facilitated via primary credit unions. The budget also includes provisions for Annadata Sukhibhava, interest-free loans, digital agriculture, and agricultural mechanization to modernize farming practices across the state.

  • Annadata Sukhibhava: Rs.4,500 crore
  • Subsidized Seeds: Rs.240 crore
  • Soil Testing: Rs.38.88 crore
  • Fertilizer Supply: Rs.40 crore
  • Crop Insurance: Rs.1,023 crore
  • Interest-Free Loans: Rs.628 crore
  • Agricultural Mechanization: Rs.187.68 crore
  • Digital Agriculture: Rs.44.77 crore

The budget also includes funding for key agricultural departments and universities, supporting research and innovation for sustainable farming practices.
