Amaravati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a detailed review of the power department at the Secretariat, focusing on advancing solar energy production across Andhra Pradesh. The review included discussions on government programs aimed at increasing solar power adoption in public offices and residential areas.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister assessed the progress of solar power installations in government buildings under the PM Suryagarh initiative. He also reviewed plans to equip homes belonging to SC and ST communities with solar power facilities, offering several strategic suggestions to officials to expedite implementation.
Key schemes such as the Kusum Scheme and the Solar Village initiative were also discussed in detail. The government has identified Kuppam constituency as a pilot project for achieving 100% solar power supply, showcasing Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to clean energy and sustainable development.
The CM emphasized the importance of promoting renewable energy to reduce dependence on conventional power sources and lower energy costs. These solar initiatives are expected to significantly contribute to environmental conservation while empowering marginalized communities in the state.
