Amaravati: Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasadoddy has announced that free bus travel for women in RTC buses will be implemented soon. Speaking at the Secretariat, he also revealed that Anna canteens, aimed at providing meals for the poor, will be inaugurated on August 15.
“The study committee established by the government to evaluate free bus travel has submitted several recommendations,” Ramprasadoddy stated. “Based on these suggestions, we will soon make free travel available for women.”
Ramprasadoddy emphasized that Andhra Pradesh’s free bus travel policy will surpass those of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Telangana. “We aim to implement a superior policy for free bus travel when compared to other states,” he said.
The introduction of free bus travel and Anna canteens are part of the government’s broader initiative to support social welfare and improve living standards for the underprivileged. These measures reflect a commitment to enhancing public transportation accessibility and addressing hunger issues within the state.
