Moscow: In response to US President Donald Trump’s recent remarks on the ongoing war in Ukraine, the Kremlin has acknowledged the complexity of the conflict, emphasizing that efforts to resolve the war will be a lengthy process. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that while there is no immediate breakthrough on peace talks, President Vladimir Putin is always open to discussions with the United States, including with Trump.
“The implementation of ideas to resolve the Ukraine issue is underway. However, given the complexity of the situation, it’s clear that this will be a long process,” Peskov stated, addressing the media. He reiterated that Putin is willing to engage in consultations with both the US president and his administration on finding a resolution.
Meanwhile, President Trump expressed anger over Putin’s recent comments, suggesting that a change in Ukrainian leadership would be necessary for peace to be achieved. Trump made it clear that if the bloodshed in Ukraine continues, the responsibility will fall on those involved, particularly Russia. He warned that he would impose heavy tariffs on Russia if the war persists.
Additionally, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Ukraine will never join NATO, threatening significant repercussions if Russia attempts to withdraw from a rare minerals agreement.
