Mumbai: Andhra Pradesh’s Education, IT, and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh met with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang on Thursday to explore opportunities for collaboration in advancing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology within the state. During the meeting, held in Mumbai, Minister Lokesh outlined Andhra Pradesh’s vision to incorporate AI for enhanced governance and service delivery, and sought Nvidia’s expertise and support in establishing an AI University in Amaravati.
Minister Lokesh expressed Andhra Pradesh’s interest in leveraging AI to improve public services, noting that the planned AI University would play a pivotal role in developing advanced technological skills and solutions in the region. “We aim to use AI technology to deliver faster, more efficient services to our citizens,” he said, underscoring the state’s commitment to becoming a leader in AI-driven governance practices.
Jensen Huang responded positively to Minister Lokesh’s proposal, discussing the transformative impact AI can bring to sectors such as speech recognition, medical imaging, and supply chain management. Huang highlighted Nvidia’s role in providing cutting-edge computing power, tools, and algorithms essential for AI’s integration into these areas, noting that these advancements will revolutionize various industries worldwide.
With a market value of $3.5 trillion, according to Bloomberg, Nvidia stands as one of the most influential players in AI technology. CEO Jensen Huang, Nvidia’s co-founder, is currently ranked as the 11th richest person globally, underlining the company’s impact and potential as a partner in Andhra Pradesh’s technological development.
