While many recognize him as a film icon, not everyone knows about the challenges he faced early in his career and the heartwarming story behind his daughter, Dishani Chakraborty.
Dishani is not Mithun’s biological daughter; he adopted her after she was abandoned as a baby, left in a garbage bin. Fortunately, she was rescued by kind-hearted individuals, and Mithun, upon learning of her plight, officially adopted her, showcasing his compassionate side.
Reflecting on his journey, Mithun candidly shared the difficulties he encountered while trying to make a name for himself in the film industry. He recalled the struggles related to his skin color, which led to a lack of respect from some people. Mithun recounted his early days in Mumbai, where he often slept on the streets and went hungry, facing tears and despair. “There were many nights I slept with an empty stomach, crying and worrying about food for the next day,” he said.
As he receives the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award, Mithun’s story serves as an inspiration, reminding us of resilience and the power of compassion.
