Amaravati: Minister Nara Lokesh has instructed authorities to intensify training programs for principals and secondary grade teachers under the SOLD (School Online Learning and Development) project to enhance the educational standards in government schools across Andhra Pradesh. During a review meeting at his residence in Undavalli, the minister urged senior officials from the school education department to focus on comprehensive training and capacity building.
Lokesh emphasized the importance of completing the training for School Management Committees (SMC) by the end of October. He also stressed the need for active participation of SMC members to improve facilities and academic outcomes in schools. The minister advised officials to create a dedicated app to gather feedback from SMC members on school management, ensuring principals focus on their primary roles.
The meeting also highlighted the need for immediate provision of teaching-learning materials in every school. Lokesh insisted that there be a uniform educational pattern for both boys and girls and that textbooks remain free of any political influence. Additionally, he expressed concern about the low attendance rate, which stands at 70%, despite substantial government investment, and called for strategies to boost attendance.
School Education Secretary Kona Sasidhar, Director Vijayaramaraju, and other key officials participated in the meeting.
