MLA Pithani Slams YSRCP’s ‘False Propaganda’ on Electricity Charges

West Godavari: MLA Pithani Satyanarayana criticized the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) for spreading what he called false propaganda about increased electricity charges under the coalition government. Addressing the media at his residence in Kommuchikkala, Poduru mandal, the former minister accused YSRCP leaders of misleading the public through dharnas and protests.

Satyanarayana stated that the coalition government has not raised electricity charges and is continuing with the rates established during the YSRCP’s tenure. He accused YSRCP of hypocrisy, highlighting that electricity charges were hiked eight times under Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s administration. “Jagan repeatedly increased unit charges and burdened the people. Now, his party is staging protests over the same charges they implemented,” he said.

The MLA further alleged that the YSRCP’s power purchase agreements during their five-year rule imposed a staggering ₹81,768 crore burden on electricity companies and consumers. “Jagan is misleading the public with lies, unable to tolerate the growing strength of TDP and Janasena leaders,” Satyanarayana added.

He urged the public to see through the YSRCP’s tactics and recognize the coalition government’s efforts to stabilize governance without imposing additional financial burdens on citizens.
