Hyderabad: An Osmania University (OU) student leader has alleged receiving death threats from fans of popular actor Allu Arjun, following recent protests against the actor. Leaders of the OU Student Joint Action Committee (JAC) have filed a complaint at the OU police station, claiming they are being harassed and threatened by Allu Arjun’s fan base.
In their complaint, the JAC leaders stated, “Hundreds of calls are pouring in, claiming to be from Allu Army and Allu Arjun’s fans, demanding an immediate apology for the protest outside Allu Arjun’s house. They are threatening to kill us. Our phone numbers are being circulated on social media, making us targets for harassment. Allu Arjun must take responsibility for this and ensure the calls stop. If not, we will mobilize thousands of people to besiege his residence.”
The controversy began after OU student JAC leaders accused Allu Arjun of being indirectly responsible for the death of Revathi, a fan who died in a stampede during the release of the actor’s film at Sandhya Theatre. The protesters demanded compensation for Revathi’s family and resorted to stone-pelting at Allu Arjun’s residence, causing property damage.
