Tirumala: The taste and quality of Srivari Laddus have significantly improved due to recent measures, stated TTD EO Sri J Syamala Rao at a media conference held at Goluklam Rest House. He emphasized that contractors would face stringent action for supplying adulterated or low-quality ghee.
Rao highlighted the absence of adulteration testing equipment in Tirumala and stressed the need for such facilities to ensure quality control. He pointed out challenges in the current systems for processing raw materials and procuring ghee.
To address these issues, a committee of four dairy experts Dr. Surendranath, Dr. Vijay Bhaskar Reddy, Dr. Swarnalatha, and Dr. Mahadevan has been formed to review the situation and submit a report within a week. This committee will also recommend terms and conditions for ensuring the procurement of high-quality ghee in future tenders.
Rao informed that the ghee suppliers were directed to provide only premium quality ghee to TTD. One company, found supplying adulterated ghee according to a NABL test report, has been issued a show-cause notice for blacklisting. Another company was also identified for supplying substandard ghee.
The EO cautioned that non-compliance with tender conditions and regulations by ghee suppliers would result in firm actions by TTD to maintain the quality and sanctity of Srivari Laddus.
