Mumbai: A teenager was gangraped by her two brothers in Maharashtra. According to police, on April 20, the 15-year-old girl was raped when she came out of her house to purchase material for making ‘rakhis’. Reports said that while she was walking along the lake near Mhatre Nagar, she was pulled in an autorikshaw by a close relative of one of her friends.
She was locked up in a hut in the isolated Dativali railway station and then raped by the accused Avinash Chandrakant Patil and brother Bhavesh Patil. It is heard that she was threatened not to reveal it to anyone.
After receiving the complaint from the victim, the police registered a case against the accused under the sections 363, 366, 376 (G), 342 and 506 of the IPC and also sections 3, 4, 5(G) and 6 of the POCSO Act of 2012. The search for the culprits is underway.
