Bengaluru: On Friday, as many as 16 people were killed in a multiple vehicle collisions in Krishnagiri. Nearly six women and a 12-year-old child are among the deceased. The multiple vehicle collisions involved a lorry, a car and a bus in Melumalai in Krishnagiri. At least 30 others were also wounded in the incident and the death toll is expected to increase.
The accident took place when a groundnut-laden lorry from Karnataka was crashed into a Krishnagiri-bound private bus, which was carrying 33 passengers.
According to reports, the lorry rammed into the bus and a car. After receiving the information, the police rushed to the accident site. Injured were also immediately shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment.
