Visakhapatnam: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday seized a huge container with around 25000 kilograms of narcotics at Visakhapatnam port. CBI detained a huge container ship after receiving information from the Interpol authorities.
CBI along with customs authorities conducted ‘Operation Garuda’ to seize the container with dried yeast which is suspected to be mixed with the Cocaine. In an official press release CBI stated that a huge container was seized with suspected narcotics on Tuesday. The information is released on Thursday after preliminary enquiry.
The actual quantity of narcotic substance in the dry yeast is yet to be identified. The container was booked from Brazil in the name of a reputed aqua exports company located at Kakinada, Nellore and other parts of the state. The container was booked for exporting 1000 bags of dry yeast with a quantity of 25 kgs each.
Opposition parties targeted YSRCP over the issue and alleged that the state is turning into a drug capital. Pawan Kalyan and Naidu demanded a detailed enquiry into the issue.
