Delhi: Electoral Bonds (EB) data published by Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday revealed that Hyderabad based Mega Engineering group emerged as the second biggest donor in the country which donated Rs.1232 crores to political parties.

As per the details available, Megha Engineering and its subsidiary companies Western UP Power Transmission Co.LTd (WUPTL) together donated Rs.664 crores to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Megha donated Rs 110 crores to Congress and Rs.195 crores to BRS.

Megha also donated Rs.37 crores to YSRCP and Rs.28 crores to Telugu Desam (TDP). The engineering giant also donated Rs.4 crores to Jana Sena party.

Future Gaming and Associates owned by Santiago Martin stood first in donations with Rs 1368 crores. It purchased EB worth Rs 540 crores of Trinamool Congress, Rs.509 crores worth bonds of DMK and Rs.160 crores to YSR Congress.

Future Gaming also donated Rs.100 crores to BJP. Quick Supply stood third by purchasing bonds worth Rs.410 crores between 2021-24. It gave Rs 395 crores to BJP alone.

Indigo’s promoter Rahul Bhatia donated Rs. 56 crores to 4 political parties. BJP, AAP, Congress and TMC received donations from Bhatia.
