A young lady, Ramalakshmi has been attacked with acid by an auto-rickshaw driver. She is under treatment with 60% burns. He was trying to molest her and poured acid on the lady.
The victim, Ramalakshmi wife of Murugesan of Tirunelveli city, was travelling to her native village, Singikulam near Kalakkad in an auto. Chinnarasu, 28 years old auto driver has tried to molest her and in her hurry to escaped he spilled acid on her.
The auto driver mid way stopped and tried to molest the lady on Vaduvoorpatti-Singikulam road. The auto driver after spilling the acid on the lady escaped from the place. She was later rushed to the Tirunelveli Government Medical College Hospital.The couple were residing in a rental accommodation, it has come to the notice of Kalakkad police that the owner of their accommodation had also been torturing Ramalakshmi for couple of months.
