The All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is preparing to contest the Uttar Pradesh (U.P.,) Assembly elections 2022. In regard to this, the Party led by Asaduddin Owaisi started inviting applications from the candidates willing to contest the elections.
According to sources, the application would be in the prescribed form with a loyalty contract. As per the loyalty contract, the applicant would be campaigning for the AIMIM in U.P. The conditions would be applied to the candidates who submitted their application and did not get a ticket to contest.
In order to submit the application officially, the candidate needs to submit the necessary documents and would have to pay an application fee of Rs. 10,000.
AIMIM President of U.P., Shaukat Ali said, “We have made up our mind to contest on 100 Muslim majority seats in Uttar Pradesh and there has also been a discussion about a possible alliance with like-minded parties. Although no final decision has been taken on this yet, the doors of both SP and BSP are open for us.” He said that AIMIM National President Asaduddin Owaisi will take the final decision on the ticket distribution, for which he is likely to visit U.P., soon.
In the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Polls, the AIMIM is going to contest against the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
It is to be noted, in the recent panchayat polls in U.P., the AIMIM performed well in Azamgarh and Prayagraj. In addition, the Hyderabad based AIMIM also contested in the 2021 Bihar Assembly elections and the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections.
