On Thursday, in a similar move, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued directions to all the respective Car Parking Licensees across all AAI controlled airports for evolving a mechanism for e-payment transactions in the form of Debit/Credit Cards, Digital Wallets like PayTM, Freecharge, Reliance Jio and many others were mentioned in the list released by AAI.

It was also issued that all these licensees must keep sufficient change in the small denomination of Rs. 10, 20, 50 & 100 to smoothen the process of parking at all airports. Apart from Car Parking Licenses, AAI is passing a rule so that digital payment alternatives must be made available at all the outlets that provide passengers different services at airports. These include Food & Beverage Outlets, General Retails, Car Rentals, Pre-paid Taxi Services etc.

This decision was taken as the country is facing a cash crunch, in which the Air Travel passengers are affected the worst. With less cash and long queues at the Forex outlets in Airports, people have been facing severe trouble in making payments with cash. With this move by AAI, it will be a relief to all the passengers and even their relatives who struggle to pay for parking charges with cash.
