Eve teasing over time has reduced considerably in the city. This is due to strict laws and regular patrolling in the city. But when this teasing happens in the premises of someone’s home, the first thing to do is to notify the police.
A 17 year-old Intermediate student committed suicide in Shamirpet, Hyderabad on Tuesday, when two neighbors continuously pestered her to accept a proposal. The girl, Saranya, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her home. The two accused, a juvenile, 17-year old degree first year student and a 20 year-old auto driver, Narsinga Rao were arrested in this regard. Saranya’s father, Mallesh who is a farmer lodged a complaint at Shamirpet Police Station alleging that his daughter committed suicide because of the harassment of these two youngsters.
Sattaiah, Shamirpet Police Station Inspector said, “A 17-year-old Degree first year student and a 20 year old auto driver, S. Narsinga Rao, from Laxmapur, were harassing the victim.”
The two have been arrested under IPC section 306, instigation for committing suicide, by the police.
The inspector, Sattaiah, said, “We have arrested both the offenders and produced them in court on Thursday.”
