Amazon Employees Steal Mobile Handset Worth Rs 10.37 Lakhs From Godown

Mumbai: The huge online store, Amazon lodged a complaint at Thane police station that the company’s employees stole mobile handset worth about Rs 10.37 Lakhs on Wednesday.
A spokesperson from Amazon said that, on May 22, a total of 17 mobile handsets were stolen by five contractual employees from the storehouse. The stock in the godown at Kurund village also had some high-end mobile handsets, he added.

Padgha police station Inspector Jaiprakash Bhosle said, complaint has been booked under IPC 381 section (theft by clerk or servant of property in possession of master) against the five employees and no one have been arrested so far.
Meanwhile, another contractual employee was caught allegedly stealing a mobile phone worth around Rs 7,500 from the storehouse on May 29 and was subsequently arrested, police said.
The arrested employee, identified as Aakash Sapat, was charged under sections 381 and 511 (attempting to commit offences) of the IPC, police added.
