Cancer tests to be done at your doorstep now!

4th February, known as World Cancer Day is not going to be any other day this year in India. The Government of India will be coming up with an initiative to conduct cancer screenings in Indian homes. The officials and members of the Medical community will go door to door to conduct the free check for cancer. The initiative flagged by the Indian Government is will help early detection of cancer in people.

The Government will also conduct free tests to check if people also suffer from diabetes or not. The program, World Cancer Day, will start on 4th February by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The program aims to cover a third of India’s population by the end of 2017. One of the officials said, “We are aiming to cover 200 districts across the country by 2018. At a later stage, we will also add testing for asthma under the program.

The aim is to reach out to the people of age groups between 30 to 69 years as chances of getting cancer or diabetes are higher in that age group. The Government will also conduct tests for asthma. For this purpose. The center will train doctors, nurses and medical professionals to carry out the check up in a proper and efficient manner with the required equipment.

The government will be spending Rs. 250 crores on the initiative and the required resources will be given to the officials to set up testing camps in districts across the Country. The center has given guidelines to different states to ensure that the program is carried out successfully.
