In a tragic incident reported in Chennai, a 41 year old RG Sivaprathaband succumbed to injuries, with no help by passerby.

Getting into the details, on the 18th of July, Sivaprathaband was going home after buying dinner for his family, when he collided with a bike, leaving him severely injured.  The accused, a biker and his pillion rider friend not only left the spot after the accident, but also stole the victim’s phone, leaving no scope of help for the victim.

In addition, a display of dying humanity was also captured in the CCTV footage, which showed 11 passerby, leaving the spot, looking at the bleeding man and deciding not to help.  Strangely, none of the people on the road thought of informing the police or an ambulance, so that the life of Sivaprathaband could be saved.  After a delay of a few minutes, two people called the police and ambulance, following which the victim was rushed to a hospital in Chennai, but could not survive.

The death of the man, who was bleeding on the road when several passerby neglected the man is a live example of how humanity has died amongst people.  In the name of ‘let’s not interfere,’ people are so full of themselves that they refuse to help strangers on roads, even if a person is taking his last breath.

The chennai man whose family was waiting for their loved ones to return home could not even know about the incident, until a thorough investigation, as the accused not only fled the spot, but also decided to steal the dying victim’s phone.

Meanwhile, after  a detailed investigation and helpt of the CCTV footage, the police arrested the two accused.  The two bikers were identified with the help of a bike registration number visible in the CCTV camera.

The accused were identified as Ramesh and his pillion rider friend Gautham, who also sustained injuries during the accident.  They have been booked under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Motor Vehicles Act.
