Rahul Gandhi, the President of the Indian National Congress (INC,) has attended the Kisan Abhaar Sammelan, on the 28th of January, starting from 2:00 P.M., onwards, in Chhattisgarh.
The Kisan Abhaar Sammelan is a gathering of farmers and a public rally, in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Mr. Gandhi has also launched election campaigns for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Kisan Abhaar Sammelan was organised by the INC to express gratitude to the citizens and farmers of the State for helping the Party come to power in Chhattisgarh after 15 years.
The Party, during the campaign for the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, promised to waive off the farmers’ loans if the INC came to power. Two days after being sworn in as the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel fulfilled his promise and waived off a total amount of Rs. 6,100 crores for over 16 lakh farmers.
The farmers who benefit from the loan waivers will get loan waiver certificates.
Farmers across the State would be attending the Kisan Abhaar Sammelan.
