The Civil Aviation Ministry, on the 20th of May, announced to resume domestic flight services from the 25th of May.
Since the 24th of March, the Central Government announced a nation wide lockdown due to the pandemic illness, the Novel Coronavirus.
In regard to this, the Indian Air services were suspended, both domestic and international flights.
On the 20th of May, Hardeep Puri, the Minister of Indian Civil Aviation, took to Twitter and announced, “India will start domestic flight operations in a “calibrated manner” from May 25.” He further said, “All airports and air carriers are being informed to be ready for operations from May 25.”
The Ministry of Civil Aviation will soon be announcing the standard operating procedure for domestic air travel.

In addition, the Aviation Ministry announced a few new changes and precautions which would be followed by the Aviation Ministry at airports due to the Novel Coronavirus. He said, “Now we won’t be able to permit queues at airports. Maybe you will have to print your boarding pass from home and passengers may have to arrive at the airport before the scheduled time. Even several airport procedures may have to be reduced. We may allow just one bag per person. The meal service also might be restricted. We have developed a strategy and will finalise this soon.”
Meanwhile, India reported a total of 1,07,789 cases of the Novel Coronavirus.
