Yesterday, a renowned criminal lawyer Shyam Keswani said India’s most wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar is keen to return to India. Keswani further added Dawood stipulated a few preconditions but the Indian Government is not ready to accept it.
Keswani said one of Dawood’s preconditions is he should be lodged only in the Arthur Road Central Jail in Mumbai. The further conditions Dawood stipulated were not revealed. Arthur Road Central Jail is where the Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab was hanged for his role in the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack.
Keswani pointed out Dawood had already conveyed his intentions earlier through Ram Jethmalani, the former Union Minister. Keswani was quoted saying, “He had also conveyed his intentions through Ram Jethmalani a few years ago but the Indian Government has not entertained any of his preconditions to return.”
Earlier, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray also made a similar revelation about Dawood’s desire to return. Thackeray said Dawood was not only keen to come back but also wanted to negotiate with the Modi Government. Thackeray further added Dawood was sick and wanted to breathe his last in India.
