E-cigarette was introduced as a way to get rid of nicotine without the danger of cigarettes. These gadgets are battery operated device and some have refillable tanks. You must have heard that E-cigarettes are better to consume than tobacco. But a new study shows that vapors are more harmful and can cause strokes more than the tobacco. This was proven by exposing mice to the chemicals present in the gadget which then showed higher risks of deadly blood clots that could cause damage to the brain. This shows that the E-cigarettes are no longer safe for human consumption. A detailed study was done by the researchers from Texas Tech University who did a comparison by exposing mice to both E-cigarette vapor and smoke from tobacco.

The study was assessed for 10 and 30 days which was later presented at the American Heart Association’s International Stroke Conference in Houston proving that e-cigarettes were more harmful to humans. So why do e-cigarette cause more threat to your health? The study showed that regular vaping reduces the amount of glucose in the brain which is necessary to boost neurons. Ali Ehsan Sifat who is the author of the research told a daily, “E-cigarette exposure decreased glucose uptake in the brain. Glucose fuels brain activity. Both e-cig and tobacco smoke exposure for 30 days significantly impaired circulating levels of an enzyme required for clotting – potentially increasing the risk for stroke and worsened secondary brain injury.”

It is now a growing concern for the smokers who use the gadget as an alternative to smoking tobacco. The e-cigarette aims at helping people quit their smoking habit which is being branded as “gateway to smoking” encouraging a new generation of smokers. The gadget gives a nicotine hit and has no tobacco toxins present but inhaling the e-cigarette increases the risk of heart disease. It is also discovered that levels of cancer-causing toxins in the body of a e cigarette consumer can fall by 97.5 per cent which pose a major threat.

However, the researchers have said that an in depth study needs to be done to reveal the effects of e-cigarettes on the brain and the human body.
