On the morning of the 24th of December, an encounter started between the terrorists and the security forces of Jammu and Kashmir.
The incident broke out in Kreeri area of Baramulla district in North Kashmir.
The encounter took place after the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about the presence of terrorists.
As the security forces zeroed in on the spot where the terrorists were hiding they came under a heavy volume of fire that triggered the encounter.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police said “Encounter has started at Wanigam Payeen Kreeri area of Baramulla. Police and security forces are on the job.”
So far, no casualties reported and investigation in the cordoned off area is underway.
