Chennai: In a horrific incident, a depressed daughter stabbed her mother multiple time in Anakaputhur, on Easter afternoon. The Shankar Nagar police arrested the 26-year-old for killing her mother with a pair of scissors.
According to the police, Vanaja 58, after her husbands death managed to fund her daughters engineering education by arranging finance form several sources. Despite of graduation, the woman could not get a proper job. Gayathri who was upset with her career was stated to be depression and was under going medication.
According to the sources, the mother-daughter quarreled over an issue on Sunday and it culminated in Gayathri grabbing a pair of scissors from her mother and stabbing her with it. Soon after that Gayathri called 108 ambulance service and rushed her mother to Chrompet GH, where Vanaja faile dto respond the treatment.
Gayathri was remanded to judicial custody by a court at Tambaram and was lodged at Central Prison, Puzhal.
