Bhubaneswar: Yesterday evening around 7:30 P.M., due to a short circuit a fire took place in SUM hospital. The Intensive Care Unit also caught fire. Over 19 people are dead more than 100 are under going treatment.
The fire was first detected in the dialysis ward and later spread to the ICU and the medicine ward. An eye witness has told that many patients were saved by breaking the windows. P.M., Narendra Modi also tweeted regarding the major fire, “Spoke to Minister @JPNadda & asked him to facilitate transfer of all those injured to AIIMS. Hope the injured recover quickly.”
There was a similar fire accident in Kolkatta where 90 people were found dead. The Odisha government has now setup an helpline number 9439991226.
