On Sunday, six IIM Nagpur students were killed in a freak accident when a lorry collided with their car 15 km from Nagpur. The student who was driving, Durgesh Chauhan, was killed on the spot. The other five were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The students were on their way to a picnic spot when this incident happened.

The Press release by the Indian Institue of Management states: “With a heavy heart, IIM Nagpur and IIM Ahmedabad would like to share a sad news. In the early hours of Sunday, January 8, 2017, six IIM Nagpur students met with a tragic vehicle accident off campus. Unfortunately, the driver and Durgesh Chauhan one of Nagpur students passed away. The other students were rushed to the hospital and are being provided medical care.”

According to reports, all the six students were pursuing their PGP first year. More details are still to be revealed by the institutions.
