On the 3rd of March, a high voltage political drama occurred between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC,) in Madhya Pradesh (M.P.)
On the night of 3rd of March, the INC said the BJP took 10 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) to a hotel in Haryana, hatching a conspiracy against the State Government.
According to the INC the aim to horse trade MLAs in the State is to destabilize the Kamal Nath led State Government.
Jitu Patwari, the Higher Education Minister of M.P., Government said, “Senior BJP leaders, including former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former ministers Narottam Mishra, Bhupendra Singh and Rampal Singh among others, have forcibly taken eight MLAs to a hotel in Haryana as part of a conspiracy.” He further added, “The MLAs told us that they were forcibly confined by the BJP leaders.”
The statement of the INC leaders came out after the BJP leaders took a few MLAs of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) to Delhi on a special flight. The INC- BSP- SP (Samajwadi Party) are an alliance and ruling Party in Madhya Pradesh.
Digvijay Singh, a senior leader said, “When we got to know, Jitu Patwari and Jaivardhan Singh went there. People with whom our contact was established were ready to come back to us. We were able to get in touch with Bisahulal Singh and Ramabai. Ramabai came back, even when (the) BJP tried to stop her.”
Digvijay Singh quoted the statements of the MLAs, who were taken by the BJP and said, “The MLAs told us that they were forcibly confined by the BJP leaders.”
The MLAs are currently in ITC Grand Manesar Hotel. The INC leaders went to meet the MLAs, while some fell into the trap of the BJP, and others came back to the INC.
Mr. Singh said, “BJP’s Rampal Singh, Narottam Mishra, Arvind Bhadauria, Sanjay Pathak were going to give them money. Had there been a raid, they would have been caught…. We think 10-11 MLAs were there, only four are still with them now, they will also come back to us.”
According to the INC, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Narottam Mishra and others offered 25 to 35 crores of money to the INC leaders and horse traded right before re nominations of the Rajya Sabha polls.
The political chaos came at a time when the Rajya Sabha elections are going to be held in MP on the 26th of March
