Rajasthan has also recorded below zero degrees temperature resulting in extremely chilled weather across the planes. This year Rajasthan’s Churu held the lowest recorded temperature of -1.9 degrees celsius followed by Sriganganagar at -1.9 degrees celsius.

The cold wave has spread not only through the North but also the southern regions. This is an effect of the cold dry winds flowing from the Himalayan range, from Jammu & Kashmir and also Himachal Pradesh. These regions have also recorded very heavy snowfalls after six years. This is expected to continue until the 21st of January this year.
