On the 4th of March, the Union Health Ministry, confirmed a total of 29 cases of Novel Coronavirus in India.
Harsh Vardhan, the Union Health Minister, on the 4th of March, announced confirmed positive cases, including 16 Italian nationals, who are currently at the Indo-Tibetan Border Police’s (ITBP) quarantine facility, in Chhawla.
The Italian Nationals were reported in Jaipur Rajasthan, where they came for a tour. A 69 year old Italian tourist was found infected in Jaipur, on the 4th of March. Later, his wife and 14 other tourists, including the bus driver also tested positive for the Coronavirus .
The other cases are 6 in Agra, 3 in Kerala, 1 in Telangana, 1 in Delhi and 1 in Gurgaon. Since the travellers visited many places in Rajasthan between the 21st of February to 28th of February, the State Government announced high alert in Rajasthan’s 7 districts.
Mr. Harsh Vardhan said, “On conducting contact tracing of the person tested positive in Delhi, we came to know that he infected 6 members of his family who are in Agra. All 6 members tested positive for Coronavirus.”
The Central Government and the State Governments of Haryana, Delhi and Punjab joined hands to fight the deadly disease and urged people to stay indoors.
It is also suggested if anyone is having symptoms of the disease, visit the nearest clinic or hospital and to get their tests for the virus done immediately. The Government also set up helpline numbers for people who are having symptoms like fever, cough and difficulty in breathing. The Government is also planning to include private hospitals under the NITI Aayog, medical facilities for the poor and also increased isolation wards for treatment.
The family of viruses which has infected 94,348 people across the world and killed more than 3,2210 has no cure as of now. Scientists and medical teams are working to prevent the spread of the disease.
