The Indian Health Department, on the 9th of December, reported 32,080 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
In the past few days, the COVID-19 infection cases reduced to below 40,000 per day.
Besides 32,080 cases, the Nation recorded 36,600 people recovered/discharged and 402 deceased cases.
The facts were updated by the Union Health Ministry and the data regarding the same is available on the official website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)
Though, India reported low cases of COVID-19 infection, it is 21 % higher than the cases reported on the 8th of December.
On the 8th of December, India reported 26,506 cases, the lowest single day count since the 10th of July.
With the aforementioned data, India crossed 9.73 million cases (97,35,850) positive cases and remains the second worst COVID-19 hit Nation. Of the total positive cases, India has 92,15,581 recovered/discharged cases, only 3,78,909 active cases and 1,41,360 deceased cases till date
In addition, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR,) India is close to crossing 150 million tests for COVID-19. A cumulative total of 14,98,36,767 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to the 8th of December, with 10,22,712 samples being tested in the past 24 hours.
The recovery rate of COVID-19 in India is more than 93 % with the active case load comprising 3.96 % only and fatality rate below 1.50 %.
Meanwhile, the United States of America (U.S.A.,) also the first worst COVID-19 hit nation, on the 9th of December, became the first country to cross the 15 million positive cases of the Novel Coronavirus.
In India, the top states contributing to the maximum number of active COVID-19 cases are Maharashtra (73,374,) followed by Kerala (59,748,) West Bengal (23,750,) Delhi (22,310,) Uttar Pradesh (21,374) and Rajasthan (20,875.)
