The techie got into a heated argument with the building’s security guard, who stared at her inappropriately. When she threatened to file a complaint against him with the organisation, the security guard strangled her to death. Rasila’s father Raju O., who has recently retired from the Indian Army and currently working with a security firm in Kerala spoke to the media about her plans for transfer and how the organisation was turning a deaf ear to her pleas. Speaking to the media, he said, “Rasila was seeking (a) transfer to Bangalore but the company did not accept her application. Had she got transferred to Bangalore or anywhere in South India, she would have been alive.”

Her parents also showed anger for the absence of a female security personnel in the work space. The distraught father said, “They called my daughter in the office on Sunday which was her weekly off. While she was alone in her section, the (sic) Infosys should have ensured that there is a female security guard deployed on the ninth floor where she was working.”

The police carried out a thorough investigation and on Tuesday, the Joint Commissioner of Police Sunil Ramanand said that the private security firm hired by Infosys was continuing its operations even though their license has expired in November 2016. The police arrested Bhaben Saikia (27) on Monday, who was placed in the Hinjewadi campus for Infosys.

The police are investigating further and are contemplating if they can file a case against the agency as multiple calls made to the Board of the organization did not give any fruitful results. Also, the tech giant Infosys has also not released any official statement regarding the murder in the Pune Campus which infuriated the parents of the girl even more.
