IPL 2016: No IPL in Maharashtra in May, says Supreme Court

New Delhi: Its confirmed now! Supreme Court officially stated that there will be no Indian Premier League in Maharashtra in the month of May. The verdict given by the SC clearly announced that 13 matches scheduled in Maharashtra should be removed out as the state is dealing with severe drought.
The Bombay High Court has said that water could not be used for cricket pitches, of Twenty20 league in venues like Nagpur, Pune and Mumbai when there was tremendous scarcity of water throughout the state.

The organizers and several cricket associations, augured with the Bombay High Court on the water issue, but nothing could save them in Supreme Court when the order went against them.

It was argued by the organisers that they would use sewage water, not water that could be treated for drinking, which would be used to water the pitches. They also offered to donate 60 lakh liters of treated sewage water to drought-hit areas.
