On Tuesday night in Uttar Pradesh, the Anti-Terrorism squad killed a member of ISIS, Saifullah by name, in the Lucknow district. When his body was handed over to the family, the father, Sartaaj refused to accept the body citing that he was an anti-national. Speaking to ANI, Sartaaj told them that Saifullah ran away from home a few months ago as he hit his son for not working. The last time Saifullah spoke to the family, he mentioned that he was moving to Saudi Arabia and will find work there.

 

At the same time, the family of Muhammad Faisal and Muhammad Irfan who were arrested by the Anti-Terrorism Squad said that they were innocent and all the allegations were baseless. The father said that Faisal owned and took care of a shop, whereas Imran was married to his daughter and is his son-in-law.

The Police, however, said that they have the required evidence proving their guilt and the connection with the Bhopal-Ujjain train blast. The police also said that they have proof of their link with the Islamic State militants in Syria. The ATS operation in Lucknow which led to the killing of Saifullah said that they collected enough evidence suggesting their guilt.

The items recovered at the spot of the encounter were an ISIS flag, train timetables, explosives, 650 rounds of ammunitions, cash, gold, sim cards and passports. Apart from one dead and two arrested, six others have been arrested in Madhya Pradesh and police said that two more related to the group were on the run.

Atif Mujaffar alias Al-Qasim has been declared as the mastermind behind the train blast. He is an engineering student from Aligarh and is a self-proclaimed ’emir'(Chief) of the ‘Khorasan module’ of India. Speaking about this on Wednesday, the MP CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan said hat the terrorists had sent pictures of the pipe bomb used in the blast to Syria.
