Jet Airways Bus Rams Into Air India Plane In Kolkata

Kolkata: A Jet Airways shuttle bus rammed into an Air India Plane in the early hours of Tuesday in the Kolkata airport. The collision caused a huge damage worth crores to the aircraft. The accident occurred when the driver of the bus dozed off and crashed into the plane. However, no one was hurt in the incident.

The driver, Momin Ali, confessed his mistake and also the director of the airport, AK Sharma said that Ali had fallen asleep and deviated from his route. The incident took place at around 5:25 am and there were no passengers in the bus and in the plane when the bus crashed into the aircraft.

According to officials, the plane was parked at Bay no. 32 and was about to fly to Silchar in Assam. It is also clear from the medical reports that the driver was not drunk and or on drugs. With this, untoward incident the airline cancelled two flights to the North East. An investigation has been launched.
