Bengaluru: At least eight school children were killed in a road accident on Tuesday morning. The deceased include two girls and six boys. The accident took place at Trasi village of Udipi district in Karantaka. Six other children were injured and they were immediately shifted to a hospital. The wounded are currently undergoing treatment at the paediatric ICU in Kasturba hospital at Manipal.
According to reports, nearly 16 school children were on their way to school in Trasi village in an Omni van. The incident occurred when a private express bus, which was heading from Bhatkal to Kundapur, rammed into it. Further details are awaited.
