The Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi about corruption. This comes after the PM made a remark about the Karnataka Government being corrupt.
PM Modi titled the Congress Government in Karnataka as ‘seedha rupaiah sarkar” hinting at Siddaramaiah. Modi made the comment during a public rally in Karnataka on the 3rd of May. The PM stated nothing gets done in Karnataka without a bribe.
Reacting to Modi’s statement, Siddaramaiah tweeted, “Dear PM, I am glad you have made corruption an issue in this Election because that is your weakest point.You are making baseless allegations of corruption about our Govt.”
The Karnataka CM attacked the BJP and stated the party was hiding the Iron Ore Mining Scam of the Reddy Brothers. He tweeted, “Can you speak for 5 mins on the ethics of using the Reddy Brothers to win an election? Making someone who has 23 cases of corruption, cheating, forgery your CM candidate. When will you speak of your top 11 leaders facing corruption cases? Awaiting your answer.”
The two leaders are in a war of words and attacking each other during public rallies in the run up to the State’s elections. The voting will happen on the 12th of May and the counting will be done on the 15th of May.
