Kashmir: Four suspected militants and one soldier were killed in a fierceful gunfight which occurred between the suspects and security forces in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, today.
According to the police officials, two of the army’s Rashtriya Rifles launched a joint operation at around 6:30 am on Friday after they received information about militants being present in the area. The gun shoots continued for sometime.
“Security forces surrounded Khochipora village in Tangmarg area late on Thursday night following information that two militants were hiding in the village,” the senior police official said.
The encounter comes a day after three militants were killed in a gun battle in Nowgam sector of Handwara town after trying to infiltrate the Indian side of Kashmir.
