J.P. Nadda, the Union Health Minister and the Lok Sabha incharge of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh, said, the BJP will contest and secure 74 Lok Sabha seats in the State.

Mr. Nadda addressed a Party meeting in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh and said, “In 2014, the strength of our party in UP was 36 lakh workers. Now our strength is 1.80 crore workers. We will go to Lok Sabha polls with the promise of making Narendra Modi the Prime Minister again.”

Nadda was sure about the victory because of the good image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also spoke about the welfare initiatives of the BJP and urged the Party workers to strive to win the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The main agenda of the campaigns of the BJP for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh will be ‘Sabka Vikas Sabka Saath.’

J.P. Nadda also criticised the opposition parties and the grand alliance of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Samajwadi Party (SP) against the BJP. He said, “Winning against the BJP has become a challenge for all the parties and hence they are engaging in ‘gathjod’ (alliances).” In addition, he said, “People who had never united in the past are now coming together owing to the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and increasing attraction of the masses towards the BJP.”

The Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, scheduled between April and May 2019, will be held for 80 seats. The major parties contesting are the Indian National Congress (INC,) the BJP and the grand alliance of the BSP and the SP.
