Make your selfie, a postal stamp now!

Allahabad: With the craziness of Selfies, Indian postal department have started an unique way by prioritizing the stamps and the selfies. Here is a good news for all who still write letters to your loved one and believe that hand written letters carry emotions rather than emails. Now you can send your selfie as stamp by leaving the old traditional national stamps behind.

Going into the details, the postal department of India is expected to start a new ‘My Stamp’ facility at the Head Post Office by the end of this year. Single sheet of ‘My Stamp’ will cost you Rs 300 and will contain personalized Rs 5 postage stamps.

“The process for this is simple. A good photograph will be scanned to get it converted into a postage stamp. In case one does not have photos, then it will be clicked by the equipment on the spot,” said RN Yadav, senior post master, Head Post Office.

This scheme was recently introduced. It was formally launched in India for the first time during the World Philatelic Exhibition-2011 in New Delhi. In Allahabad it was launched in a philatelic exhibition during the Kumbh mela and will be implemented soon all over the nation.
