Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 30th of October, extended greetings for the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi.

Mr. Modi wished the people of India and hoped this day furthers compassion and brotherhood.

India celebrates Milad-un-Nabi on the 30th of October. The celebration marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad.

Milad un Nabi is observed during the month of Rabi’ al-awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar.

Mr. Modi took to Twitter and said, “Best wishes on Milad-un-Nabi. Hope this day furthers compassion and brotherhood all across.” The tweet further read, “May everybody be healthy and happy. Eid Mubarak!”

Besides PM Modi, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana also extended wishes forMilad-un-Nabi.

On the evening of the 29th of October, Mr. Rao conveyed his greetings to the Muslim brethren in Telangana.

In addition, the Telangana Chief Minister urged people to follow the teachings of Prophet Mohammad, live happily, harmoniously and celebrate Milad-un-Nabi.

Mr. Rao also asked people of Telangana to celebrate the festival following the protocols of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

In Hyderabad, the celebrations of Milad-un-Nabi would be a low key affair in the wake of the pandemic.

Several organisations which usually hold public meetings or seminars decided to suspend the programmes as a precautionary measure.

However, the Sunni United Forum of India (SUFI) are going ahead with their annual procession.

The rally is proposed to be taken out from Quadri Chaman in Falaknuma to Charminar and join the main rally at Charminar.

The rally would pass through Gulzar Houz, Pathergatti, Salar Jung Museum, Mir Alam Mandi and culminate at Moghalpura.

As welfare activities, a few social organisations are organising blood donation camps and sapling plantation programmes while a few youth groups have given a call for ‘Chalo Osmannagar and Al Jubail colony’ to help flood affected families.
