Salman Nizami, the Indian National Congress (INC) leader in Jammu and Kashmir, took to Twitter and criticised Narendra Modi.

Mehbooba Mufti also commented on Nizami’s tweet and said, “For the those who are asking, the wave is for BJPs countless imaginary ‘friends’ in Kashmir (sic.)”

In addition, Omar Abdullah, the National Conference leader, also commented, “This camera person has done The Hon PM a huge disservice by not showing all the people furiously waving back because there is no way the PM would be waving at an empty lake.”

It is said, Mr. Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir is a part of the campaign strategy of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The elections are scheduled between April and May 2019 and the major parties contesting are the INC and the BJP.
