Approximately 19 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of the Indian National Congress (INC) extended their support to Jyotiraditya Scindia, a former member of the INC.
Jyotiraditya Scindia joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) on the evening of the 11th of March. He wore the saffron scarf in front of Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, the BJP President J.P. Nadda and other members.
Mr. Scindia in the midnight posted a tweet thanking the BJP. In the tweet, Jyotiraditya said, “it’s not just a turning point in my life, but also an opportunity for me to continue my commitment towards public service under the inspirational leadership of PM Modi-ji,t’s not just a turning point in my life, but also an opportunity for me to continue my commitment towards public service under the inspirational leadership of PM Modi-ji,”
Jyotiraditya Scindia said, “I consider myself lucky that I have got a platform to serve the nation. I thank the Prime Minister. No other government has ever won a mandate like PM Modi did, not once but twice, in this country’s history. The PM’s ability to work, using that mandate in a proactive way, and the way he has brought international repute to India, and the way he has implemented schemes, I believe the country is safe in his hands.”
The 19 MLAs said they are with Jyotiraditya Scindia and are not under any pressure with the decision of resigning from the INC. All the 19 MLAs are currently residing in Prestige Golfshire hotel in Bengaluru and 3 other MLAs are in different city.
The MLAs also demanded tight police security for their safety purposes, following which a police force has been deployed in Bengaluru.
Tulsi Silawat, the Health Minister of Madhya Pradesh (M.P.,) who also submitted his resignation, shared a video clip. In the video he said, “All the 22 MLAs are united and have not come under duress but on their own. We are with our most revered Jyotiraditya Scindiaji and follow him. His decision was supreme for us.”
Mahendra Singh Sisodia, the Labour Minister of M.P., said “Jyotiraditya Scindia has not indulged in betrayal. Rather the Congress and Kamal Nathji have betrayed him. With the hard labour put in by Scindiaji, Congress came to power in MP after 15 years.”
Prabhu Ram Choudhary, the Education Minister and Govind Singh Rajput, the Transport Minister of M.P., are also against the INC.
If the Governor of M.P., Lalji Tondon, accepts the resignation of the 22 MLAs including 6 Ministers, then the Kamal Nath Government would fall down to 99. On the other hand, the BJP with 107 MLAs would be largest party in M.P., to stake claim for Government formation.
However, a final decision regarding the same would be taken after a trust of motion.
