The files between the period 1937 to 1947 have been revealed and are expected to unveil the mysterious disappearance of Netaji.
Mamata Banerjee made announcement that the government of West Bengal will undertake the process of digitization of all the files from 1937 to 1947.
Netaji’s grandnephew had moved out of his comfort and said Centre should take cue from this move and release all 135 files with the government. “We hope that the NDA government take a cue from this and release the 135 files that is there with the Centre,” Chandra Bose said.

“It’s time that the nation gets to know about the true story behind Netaji. We would like to ask the West Bengal government to form a team which will include members of the Bose family scrutinize the files. The British government too has said that they have files on Netaji…they have asked for more time..I would request PM Narendra Modi to request governments of England and Russia to release the documents,” he added.
Earlier the Prime Minister’s office in August told the Central Information Commission that it cannot display files related to Bose as it will adversely affect relations with foreign countries.

Before the CIC, the PMO admitted that it has files related to Bose but did not give any specifics and submitted that they cannot be declassified keeping in mind the relations with foreign countries.
