Actor Kamal Haasan seems to be quite disappointed with the judgment of letting Sasikala take over the government. Kamal Haasan has tweeted about his opinions and says that the decision, to make Sakalakala the next All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party leader, should be left in the hands of the people of Tamil Nadu.
Kamal further said the level of proximity of Sasikala towards the Late Jayalalitha is no means to decide that she should take the lead. It is important that people be given a chance to give their opinions about electing Sasikala for the position. Recently O. Panneerselvam had told sources that he was forced to resign from as the Chief Minister, as the members of the party felt that Sasikala would be better for the position.
Kamal Haasan said that Panneerselvam is capable enough to handle the State and has never let us down in his years of service. Kamal also said that we cannot take the risk our lives because some members of the party are in support of Sasikala. He further said, “If they don’t know the business of running the nation, they have no right to be there. Let’s not talk in terms of personal relations…. For a naive young India it’s OK to call Gandhiji Bapuji, and Nehru Chachaji — but we’ve grown up.”
Sasikala had called for a meeting in the morning in which 131 out of 134 legislators attended the. One of the party member C.R. Saraswathi told sources, “As far as we are concerned, about 131 MLAs have come here (party headquarters.) We are Amma (Jayalalithaa) loyalists. How can we leave? Chinnamma (Sasikala) will become (the) Chief Minister”.
It looks like the members of the party are getting carried away emotionally. Is it right on the part of the members to force O. Panneerselvam to resign when he hasn’t let the State down? However, the people of the State should be given a chance to air their decision too.
