As of the 26th of September, approximately 37 people died and 500 people were injured due to the earthquake in Pakistan.
On the 24th of September, Pakistan witnessed a 5.8 magnitude earthquake in cities like Islamabad, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Lahore.
The death toll was confirmed by Pakistan’s authorities on the 26th of September.
Apart from Pakistan, the earthquake tremors were felt in a few northern parts of India, like Delhi and Punjab, for 9 to 10 seconds. However, the major damage took place in Mirpur, 20 km north of Jhelum in the Punjab province.
According to the administration officials of Mirpur district, approximately 459 were injured, out of which, 160 people are in critical condition.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA,) on the 25th of September, confirmed 24 people who lost their lives due to the earthquake were from Mirpur district.
The rescue operation for the people stuck in the earthquake hit areas is still on.
The United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) extended its support to the earthquake hit people in Pakistan.
Hamad Alzaabi, the envoy of the U.A.E. to Pakistan, on the 25th of September, took to Twitter and said, “I have received direct instructions from Abu Dhabi to provide all kinds of support and assistance to families and areas affected by the earthquake in different parts of #Pakistan .. we are currently assessing the needs with NDMA of Pakistan, our condolences to derived families.”

The death toll may rise as many of the injured are said to be in critical condition and are still undergoing treatment.
