New Delhi: Good news for all the railway passengers as they can now cancel their confirmation by just dialing 139 on their phones. The passenger has to dial 139 giving details of the confirmed ticket for cancelling it and the sender will get an one-time password (OTP).

The call charges 2 Rs per minute. The traveler has to reach the Passenger Reservation System counter and reveal the OTP to claim refund. However the passenger can cancel the tickets using IRCTC’s official website also. Both the facilities were made operational from today.
Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said, “this is an attempt on our part to relief passengers for cancellation of their tickets.” He added both the initiatives were promised in the Railway Budget 2016-17 which were fulfilled today.
